Floyd Mayweather Sr. is a retired American professional boxer and current trainer.
He is the father of Floyd Mayweather Jr., who is widely regarded as one of the greatest boxers of all time.
Mayweather Sr. was born on October 19, 1952, in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He had a successful amateur career and turned professional in 1974. Over the course of his career, he compiled a record of 28 wins, 6 losses, and 1 draw, and won several regional titles, including the NABF super featherweight title and the USBA lightweight title.
After retiring from boxing, Mayweather Sr. turned his attention to training and has worked with a number of top fighters, including his son and Oscar De La Hoya. He is known for his technical expertise and has a reputation as a demanding but effective trainer.
