The upcoming boxing sequel, Creed 3, will include “the best-coordinated fights” that legendary cutman Jacob “Stitch” Duran has ever seen, says the man himself. Speaking with Fred Talks Fighting, Duran teased the brilliance of the boxing that will sit at the center of the sequel, as well as revealing that Creed 3 will be “completely different” from the rest of the Rocky franchise.
“We finished filming a month ago, it’s going to be very exciting. Michael B. Jordan did a great job, the plot of the film is completely different, it’s not like Rocky, it’s a completely different story, with great fights, probably the best coordinated fights I’ve ever seen.”
Duran, who has appeared in the Creed franchise as the cutman for Michael B. Jordan’s boxing champ and has worked on such real-life boxing pros as the Klitschko brothers and Tyson Fury, revealed that Creed 3 has a very different story to what Rocky fans are expecting. And while he didn’t give any further details, he is not the first to hint at Creed 3 forging its own path. Rocky star and action movie icon Sylvester Stallone has previously teased the uniqueness of Creed 3 saying, “It takes it in a different direction. I wish them well and keep punching!” One such difference will be the complete absence of Rocky Balboa, who will not feature in Creed 3 at all. While Stallone also refarined from offering further details at the time, he did call it “really interesting.” So, what do you think these big changes could be? Creed 3 will still center on a boxing bout, so how different can it really be? Sadly, we have to wait until next year to find out.
